When you are trying to establish a relationship with another vendor you have to think outside of the box. A blanket email asking to be on their “list” won’t get you to far. But let’s face it referrals are a huge source of marketing and business income regardless of which industry you are in.
So let’s think outside of the box. Being the photographer you can use your images to create a marketing piece for that vendor. Customize the look with this work to showcase them! Grab their logo and implement it into the design. Then at the bottom in small put Images by KristyDickerson.com (Insert Your Photography Website).
What you have done is created a marketing piece for them to use but it also promotes you. Package it up, include a hand written note and if you can drop it off to them. They will love it!
Vendor relationships are just like new friends. You have to get to know them and they have to get you know you. People work with and refer people they know and trust. Vendor cards an easy and cost effective way to gift them. I print them at Black River Imaging using their comp cards. I typically order 25 and it costs around $20-$25 depending on paper choice.
