Who:
Vanessa Joy is a New Jersey based wedding photographer with a photojournalistic vintage and rustic flair. She focuses on creating a unique boutique experience with each of her couples shooting 25 weddings per year. She has her work published in over 30 magazines, including 5 covers, and multiple prominent wedding blogs and Photography Industry Magazines. Vanessa also enjoys speaking around the world at venues such as CreativeLIVE, Clickin’ Moms, WPPI, Imaging USA, PPA related conventions and personal workshops. Recognized for her talent and more so her business sense, her clients love working with her and industry peers love to learn from her generous, informative and open-book style of teaching.
Kay English is also a New Jersey photographer, shooting weddings in Philadelphia, New York and worldwide. She operates a boutique studio and thrives at collaborating with wedding planners to create elaborate and beautiful styled shoots that are a backbone of her business marketing and networking. Kay loves photographing emotion in photos, and capturing those timeless moments that couples will cherish for the rest of their lives and has been published multiple times in publications like Style Me Pretty, Green Wedding Shoes, NJ Bride Magazine and many more. Teaching other photographers how to shoot with a consistent style, she loves teaching local workshops and creating inspirational shoots that photographers can use to boost their portfolios.
What you can expect:
This is a one-day workshop (one long day – lunch included) with two incredible bohemian-inspired, dreamy styled shoots, a seminar style lecture with tons of information followed by a killer active working segment where you will practice what you’ve learned by blogging your styled shoot images and blasting them out via social media. By the end of this working workshop, you’ll have completed a styled shoot from start to finish, and have a second styled shoot to take home and share with your fans. It’ll be like the best day you’ve ever had at you dream job, but you’ll share it with like-minded photographers and make a few new friends too!
What you will learn:
In a nutshell, Natural Light Shooting, Posing, Marketing and Branding, Getting Published, Networking, Editing, Retouching, Making the Most of Social Media, Business Tips and Tricks and Pricing. It’ll be everything that you need to take your business to the next level, get seen on social media, and give your creativity a boost. You’ll also be one of the first people to shoot at a brand new, New Jersey Barn and Estate wedding venue! We’re limiting the number of attendees so there will be plenty of one-on-one time and no fighting for shooting space during the multi-station styled shoots.
What you should bring:
Yourself! Wear comfy clothes (or stylish ones if you’re like Vanessa and work better if you’re dressed up a bit) and bring your favorite camera gear, WiFi enabled laptop with Lightroom or Photoshop and a card reader (I told you we’d be working!). Feel free to ask a friend to sign up for the workshop so you can come together, but bring business cards and plan on networking and meeting new faces too. We’re providing you with breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack, but feel free to bring your own as well , though we’ll be sure to have vegetarian selections. Oh and a smile – we love smiles – and hugs too if you’re in the giving mood.

Workshop will be held in a brand new beautiful Barn estate Wedding venue near Freehold, NJ. The location is top secret. The address will be given to attendees only!
