Relief Aid to Victims of Joplin Tornado

Donation items for Joplin Tornado Victims

Our hearts are hurting for the victims of the tornado that devastated Joplin, Mo on Sunday May 22, 2011.

Therefore, we are partnering with Dawn Shields of Dawn Shields Photography, her bridal show, Metropolitan Bride and Dawn’s husband’s company Sierra Moving and Delivery to provide relief aid to the Ronald McDonald House of Joplin, which is serving the Joplin community as a shelter.

Below is a list of items that are needed:

WATER
CASH DONATIONS (to be applied to immediate, unforeseen needs through RMHC staff)
Snacks (foods that do not need to be reheated, cooked, etc)
Cereal Bars,
Dried Fruit
High Nutrient Bars/Foods
Crackers
Canned Foods

NEW:
Shoes (All Ages and Sizes)
Clothing (Children All Ages, Women Sizes 0-16, Men All Sizes)
Blankets
Diapers
Basic Toiletries

If you are local to the Springfield area, Please bring your donation items to Black River Imaging on or before 9 am, Thursday May 26, 2011. Sierra Moving will be bringing a truck to load donation items before they head to Joplin Thursday morning.

If you are not local to the Springfield area, there are two ways to donate. First, our own Featured Artist/Sponsored Speaker, Elise Ellis of Elise Ellis Photography, is accepting donations via PayPal. Elise will take your donation and purchase items off of the list above. Second, Springfield based, Convoy of Hope, a faith based relief organization, that provides help and hope to people in need in the United States and around world through children’s feeding initiatives, community outreaches, disaster response and partner resourcing, accepts donations via their website. They are currently in Joplin providing support, aid and relief to the victims of the tornado.
