There are times when having your favorite action at the tip of your finger is beneficial. Especially when that action is one used on every image.
Today’s Photoshop tip is how to assign Function or an F Key to an action.
First, double click on the action you want to assign an F Key too.
Second, a dialog box will open up. Use the drop down to select which F Key you want to assign the action to.
Thirdly, choose if you are going to add either Shift or Command/Control to the F Key. You will need to do this if the F Key you have chosen has already been used. For Example, if you have assigned your flatten action to F4, then you will need to add either Shift or Command/Control (of you are on PC) to the F4. The shortcut will then be Shift + F4 for the action to run.
Lastly, You may designate a color to your F Key if you so choose. This will help with organization of your actions. This is not a necessary step. Then click ‘OK’ to save your F Key.
There you have it! An easy step to make your actions at your fingertips!
